Shaun Cummings, a Stetson Law School Alumnus, will be coaching the Stetson University College of Law Mock Trial team for the upcoming Chester Bedell Memorial Mock Trial Competition, sponsored by the Trial Lawyers Section of The Florida Bar, on January 21-23, 2015 in West Palm Beach. Stetson Law School has won the event 21 out of 31 times, including 2014, where Stetson placed first and second at the competition. In 2014, Stetson University College of Law was again ranked #1 in the country for Trial Advocacy by U.S. News and World Report (19 of the past 21 years).
Shaun brings his extensive experience as a former member of the Nationally #1 ranked Stetson Law School Competition Mock Trial Team. He was initially selected to the team during his second year of law school and was the Director and Coordinator of the Phi Alpha Delta Stetson Opening Statement Competition and the Stetson Closing Argument Competition, where Stetson law school students compete against each other. During Shaun’s first year on the Mock Trial Team, he was a semi-finalist at the 2013 National Trial Competition in Gainesville, Florida, and a finalist in the 2013 South Texas Mock Trial Challenge in Houston, Texas. Shaun also received the Best Cross-Examination Award in the 2013 Lonestar Classic Mock Trial Competition in San Antonio, Texas. For his second year on the Mock Trial Team, he was a semi-finalist in the 2013 Florida Justice Association Mock Trial Competition in Tampa, Florida, and a finalist in both the 2014 Chester Bedell Mock Trial Competition in Tampa, Florida, and 2014 AAJ National Student Trial Advocacy Competition in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
