Florin Roebig attorneys, Wil Florin and Eric Czelusta, obtained a $2.25 million jury award late Thursday evening in a medical malpractice trial held this past week in Pinellas County.

The case involved the wrongful death of David Gabrielli, the 81 year old loving husband of our client, Marie. David had a known intolerance to Morphine which was unfortunately ignored by his health care providers.

Following a procedure for a kidney stone at Largo Medical Center in November of 2008, the patient was prescribed and given morphine by his urologist, subsequently developed encephalopathy, and died weeks later on Christmas morning.

The decedent was survived by his dear widow – married for 54 years – who as personal representative to his estate was the named Plaintiff in the case.

The Defendant never made a single settlement offer during the case or at trial, pushing Mr. Florin and Mr. Czeulesta to seek justice from a jury in Pinellas County.
