Meet Jessica Villella
Ms. Villella was born and raised in the Panhandle of Florida. In 2000, she received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Florida with a major in Pre-Law and a minor in Criminal Justice. In 2004, she received her Juris Doctorate Degree in Jacksonville, Florida, where she graduated Cum Laude. In 2005, Ms. Villella began her dynamic career in Jacksonville, Florida where she served as an Assistant State Attorney for 12 years. Ms. Villella specialized in prosecuting high-profile victim assault cases, in particular, sexual assault cases involving children. Early on, it became clear that this was her passion – to advocate on behalf of those who were broken. Given her signature nature with sensitive witnesses, Ms. Villella was also called in to prosecute homicide and robbery cases. In 2012, Ms. Villella was transferred to Orlando, Florida where she helped lead the sexual trafficking unit.
In 2014, after a decade of bringing vindicating light into the darkness, Ms. Villella moved across the county to Minneapolis, MN to begin anew. She grew up coming to Minneapolis to visit her grandparents, where she established some of her most special memories. Following the lead of her colleagues who suggested she needed a break from sorrow, Ms. Villella entered the civil litigation realm – this time on the defense side. For the next seven years, Ms. Villella served as national counsel for big business restaurants, retailers, and insurance companies. In the midst of her success, there remained the resounding truth that she was on the wrong side. At the risk of her job security, she found herself begging for insurance companies to do the right thing. Ultimately, Ms. Villella, in following her own internal compass, left the defense world, with many thanks, and returned to prosecution, serving as a Special Prosecutor for Chisago County and an Assistant County Attorney for Hennepin County.
In 2024, the Universe brought together Ms. Villella and Florin Roebig, who offered Ms. Villella the opportunity to do what she loves – advocating for those who are suffering – outside of the iniquity of the criminal arena. With Florin Roebig, Ms. Villella has found her ultimate ideal in representing only the injured of humanity who are looking to her for a listening ear; compassion; guidance, absolute trust; and formidability. She considers this work to be the greatest honor of her life, outside of motherhood.
Ms. Villella has tried 97 trials to verdict, with remarkable success. She believes that once a genuine, knowing bond is formed between herself and her clients, victory is inevitable. Ms. Villella deems her experience as a defense attorney to be a unique bonus, as she knows how the other side operates. This awareness allows her to be fearless.
In her free time, Ms. Villella enjoys writing, poetry, and exploring the kaleidoscope of spirituality. She lives in Minneapolis with her daughter, Pearl, and her pup, Robin.
