On July 25, 2012, Wil Florin and Tommy Roebig, along with Florin Roebig’s entire staff, were honored by Stetson University College of Law’s tenured Professor Robert Bickel for their continued support and contribution towards an annual interactive Civil Rights Class offered by the Law School.
A presentation was held on the grounds of Florin Roebig’s Palm Harbor office, wherein several dignitaries within the College of Law came to show their appreciation.
Every year, Stetson University College of Law and the University of South Florida take a group of students on a 2,000 mile trek through the epicenter of the Civil Rights Movement. The course takes students on a tour of six cities in the South, where they meet with more than 20 former veterans of the Movement, civil rights lawyers, along with other political and media figures of the time.
For the past six years, Florin Roebig has provided financial support for the Civil Rights Tour. Florin Roebig’s financial commitment has been applied to many aspects of the course, including honoraria fees for civil rights veterans who are the subject of the students’ interviews, symposia and discussion sessions, travel costs and admission fees for museums and other historic sites that they visit during the course of the trip.
Our Firm remains committed to the task of educating young legal minds, and helping them understand the history, sacrifice, and determination so many individuals displayed in our not-so-distant past, fighting for the very legal freedoms we all deem so important today.
