Slip and Fall Accidents

Work with a slip and fall attorney.

A slip and fall accident can happen anywhere: the workplace, grocery store, restaurant, or even a private residence. Each year, more than one million Americans are injured as a result of a slip and fall accident and over 17,000 die from these injuries. These injuries make up 15% of all job-related injuries and account for up to 15% of all Worker’s Compensation expenses. Nursing home residents account for 20% of all deaths from slip and falls in persons age 65 and older.

Common questions with slip and fall accidents.

What are the legal requirements of a slip and fall lawsuit?

In order to hold a property owner liable for a slip and fall accident, it must be possible to prove that the accident was caused by a dangerous condition on the property and that the property owner either knew about or should have known about the dangerous condition. Furthermore, this dangerous condition must be one that a reasonable person would not have anticipated.

What should I do if I have been involved in a slip and fall accident?

  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Take photos of scene of incident and of injuries.
