On Wednesday night, after a three-day jury trial and over 2 ½ hours of deliberation, a two-man and four-woman Pinellas County jury handed down a $248,500 verdict in favor of our client, Paul Martin, who suffered neck, back and knee injuries after a vehicle in which he was a passenger was struck by a commercial vehicle in June 2014. The verdict was returned against Defendants Duncan Construction Corporation and Ulysses McNeely.
Prior to trial, the Defendants, in this case, had offered $35,000 to settle.
We wish to congratulate Mr. Martin, whom we were pleased to represent through this process. Congratulations as well to the trial team for securing this victory (pictured above) Attorneys Chase Florin, Shaun Cummings and Legal Assistants Jennifer Beard and John Hart.
This was Chase Florin’s fifteenth (15) jury trial and Shaun Cumming’s fourteenth (14), all of which were tried to verdict in Florida’s Civil Circuit which is Florida’s highest trial court. This is notable, as the majority of Florida litigation attorneys spend their entire careers without ever trying a Civil case to verdict.
