Experienced Attorneys, verdicts with results.
Most attorneys spend an entire career and never obtain the milestone million dollar jury verdict. But for Florin|Roebig, a Palm Harbor, Florida headquartered multi-state trial and litigation firm, landmark jury verdicts in the traditionally conservative Tampa Bay area are nothing new. Our first was in 1986 (at the time the largest jury verdict in Pinellas County, Florida history) and since that time, no Pinellas / Pasco County law firm has had more million dollar jury verdicts.
Since the founding of our firm in 1985, the average contested jury verdict obtained for their clients by Wil Florin and Tommy Roebig exceeds one million dollars ($1,000,000).
For every year since the inception of the honor in 2010, Florin|Roebig has been selected as one of the “Best Law Firms in America” by “US News and World Report” and “Best Lawyers in America.” The Editorial Board of The National Law Journal named Florin Roebig as one of only 50 plaintiffs civil trial firms nationwide to its 2015 “Elite Trial Lawyers” list. Wil Florin and Tommy Roebig were recognized for this prestigious honor by The National Law Journal awards banquet in New York City in December 2015 (pictured).
Representation of national and international celebrities.
We have represented national and international celebrities, including wrestling great Hulk Hogan (medical malpractice and legal malpractice cases), former University of South Florida head football coach Jim Leavitt (wrongful termination case), New York City nationally syndicated talk show host Todd Schnitt (legal malpractice case), as well as a number of professional athletes.
In addition, we have a strategic relationship with the Jacksonville, Florida, entertainment law firm of Ossi & Najem, P.A. which has represented John Travolta (as General Counsel), the William Morris Endeavor Agency and the New York Yankees. Ossi & Najem have also performed legal work on productions starring Oprah Winfrey, Denzel Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence, James Gandolfini, Queen Latifah, The Rock, Jimmy Fallon, Salma Hayek and others. Both Michael Ossi and Lawrence Najem are ‘of Counsel’ to Florin|Roebig.
In 2020, we celebrated 35 years of legal service to our community.
The firm was founded in Clearwater, Florida in 1985 by Wil Florin. Tommy Roebig joined the firm in 1986. Up until 1991, the firm concentrated its practice to the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice and continues to do so today. In 1991 the firm expanded its practice to include employment discrimination claims (including age, race, gender, nationality, religious, and disability discrimination).
In 2015, the firm further expanded its practice to include the representation of homeowners for cases involving the negligent construction of their homes and condominiums as well as first-party property insurance claims for damage to residential and commercial properties.
Young lawyers who quickly achieved a statewide reputation.
The firm quickly expanded to become one of the largest trial firms in Pinellas/Pasco counties, achieving multiple, seven-figure jury verdicts within it’s first decade. In 1993, the firm constructed a teaching courtroom at Stetson University College of Law which became a centerpiece for Stetson Law School’s repeated #1 national ranking in “Trial Advocacy “by U.S. News and World Report.
In 1993 the law firm partners were featured on the cover of The Stetson University College of Law Alumni Magazine (pictured) for our contributions to the law school and legal community. In 1998 Wil Florin and Tommy Roebig purchased our present 15,000 square foot trial and litigation facility (pictured on homepage).
Our state-of-the-art trial and litigation center situated on 6.2 laked and wooded acres, in the heart of North Pinellas County, Florida includes a model courtroom and an on-site trial exhibits production center.
Lawyers who give back, preparing students for their careers.
In 2006 after extensive renovations and upgrades by our firm, Stetson Law School rededicated the Florin Roebig courtroom at its Gulfport, Florida campus. The facility, originally built by the firm in 1993, is one of the largest and most technologically advanced teaching courtrooms in the nation.
The Florin Roebig Courtroom has not only regularly served as a teaching and competition classroom by the law school, but also regularly used by The Florida Second District Court of Appeals for oral argument.
In addition, since 2003 the law firm has sponsored Stetson University College of Law’s annual traveling civil rights course. This award-winning legal studies course allows students the opportunity to travel the Deep South and experience famous locations critical to the nation’s struggle for equal rights as well as meet with still-living movement leaders.
As a result of the impact that those efforts have had on the law school and our community, in 2007, Wil Florin and Tommy Roebig were awarded the Paul May outstanding alumni award by the 10,000-member Stetson Lawyers Alumni Association.
Dedicated, compassionate, experienced attorneys.
Wil Florin, a triple Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney, heads the medical malpractice group, that along with Shaun Cummings, Chad Florin and John Hart, have obtained record results in several Tampa Bay area counties. Mr. Roebig’s $47.4 million jury verdict in 2014 against a Tampa Bay area day spa (Essentials Massage), $41.9 million jury verdict in 2016 against Applebee’s Grill and Bar, and $6.1 million jury verdict for a motorcycle accident trial in August 2017 are believed to be the largest contested jury verdicts in each of Pasco ($47.4M), Hernando ($41.9M), and Sumter ($6.1M) County histories.
Wil Florin and Tommy Roebig have represented discrimination victims from nearly every state in the nation, obtaining million-dollar plus recoveries in cases involving race discrimination, nationality discrimination, sexual harassment, class action and wrongful termination, including a $2.75 million settlement for former USF head football coach Jim Leavitt (pictured left at 2010 case press conference).
Attorneys Neil O’Brien and Luca Esposito spearhead the firm’s Construction Negligence division, representing thousands of homeowners for defects related to the construction of their homes, condominiums, and commercial structures.

Weitzenfeld spearhead the firm’s First-Party Insurance Liability division, representing clients throughout Florida, Texas, and Colorado in cases involving the wrongful behavior of property insurance carriers in claims involving damages to residential and commercial structures.

Peer Recognition for a Lifetime of Achievements

To have been selected for the Hall of Fame, a candidate must have reached and remained at the pinnacle of their field and had a profound influence on the College of Law.
