The Plaintiff, Ms. Cynthia Underwood (pictured in center) suffered devastating injuries requiring extensive surgical measures, including the amputation of her left leg, when she was struck by the Defendant’s car while Ms. Underwood was riding a motorcycle on County Road 48 in Sumter County, Florida. After deliberating, the jury returned a liability verdict in favor of Ms. Underwood, affirming that the collision was caused by the negligence of the Defendant. Damages have been left to be decided in a jury trial that is scheduled for early 2017.
